Glassfusing with Millefiori XXL

Although the name suggests that it is only about flowers, there are numerous other figures like hearts, circles, squares and lovely abstract figures. Millefiori come in various sizes, from a few millimetres up to even 2 centimetres in diameter.

The glass objects in this film have been slumped in stainless steel moulds from the FAP assortment. stainless steel moulds need to be treated with boron nitride, which protects both the mould and gives a smooth surface to the glass.

When fusing millefiori it is always good to use prevent devitrification rather than having to coldwork your piece afterwards. You can use an Overglaze (for example FAP Overglaze) or the FuseMaster fusing solution. This is an overglaze and glue combined in 1 product. Devit protection and glue in one remedy, that what we call easy !

Assortment Millefiori for glassfusing

Since the introduction of the HotPot late 2009, many people have been using the millefiori that Pfann offers specially for the HotPot glass. These millefiori have a coefficient of expansion (COE) of 90. Later Pfann has addes the original Italian millefiori to the glassfusing assortment; these have a COE of 104. The unique thing about the Pfann assortment is that you can get these millefiori in 100-grammes per type. Of course we also offer mix-bags with numerous types in one bag, and you can get exactly the size you want. That makes it much easier to design your glassfusing objects, like bigger glassfusing pieces.
