Spectrum for stained-glass and Fusing, System96

Spectrum glass is one of the most popular types of glass to create stained glass panels, Tiffany works and en glass fusing.  Spectrum Glass Company was founded in 1974 and this glass is produced in a continuous production process.

Spectrum glass history

In their early history, the founders of Spectrum glass were electro-engineers, often working on glass kilns. They focussed on the mechanical parts of these kilns. From 1970 on, the demand for coloured glass expanded, but the existing manufacturers did not have the capacity to meet these growing demands. This was the moment that the former electro engineers started to realise their ideas to start the production of glass, and the ‘continuous production system’ was their most important goal. To produce sheet glass from kilns by pulling it in a continuous way from electrical kilns, while the traditional manufacturers were using gas-based kilns. Spectrum glass was born.

Nowadays all craftsmen know Spectrum glass.. The Spectrum factory produces more than 250 different colours and combinations of colours and Spectrum is available in various textures. The big advantage of the production method of Spectrum glass is the price level and stability in colours. Glass artists that prefer the more unique glass sheets are more likely to find their choice with other brands.
